Oral Solution
Indications:
Synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of respiratory, digestive, and genitourinary tract infections. It has activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including Salmonella spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Streptococcus suis, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Mycoplasma, Escherichia coli, and Clostridium spp.
It acts through a reversible binding in the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, leading to the inhibition of protein synthesis. This process occurs by blocking the action of the peptidyltransferase enzyme, preventing the transfer of amino acids. Desired serum concentrations are achieved within the first hour post-administration.
Dosage:
Poultry and Swine: Therapeutic dose is 20 mg/kg of body weight. It is recommended to administer 1 mL of FLORFENICOL per 1 liter of drinking water. Administer for 2 to 4 days in poultry and for 5 days in swine, or as directed by the Veterinarian. It is suggested to deprive animals of any water source in the hours prior to administration to encourage total consumption of the product.
Withdrawal Period:
Poultry: 5 – 7 days.
Swine: 16 days.

Administration:
Oral, in drinking water.
Warnings:
Do not administer to egg-producing poultry intended for human consumption.
Do not administer to animals with a history of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
Do not administer during the breeding season in animals intended for breeding.
Do not use during gestation and lactation.
Do not use the product after the expiration date.
The main causes of antibacterial resistance are underdosing or overdosing.
Recommendations:
Do not combine with other antimicrobials, as there may be an antagonistic effect, as it acts in the same site of action as tetracyclines and macrolides.
Do not apply concurrently with vaccines.
It is recommended to check the water pH, as it can affect the solubility of the active ingredient, bioavailability, and stability.
Cleaning of pipes, drinkers, and other equipment is essential for treatment efficacy.
Keep out of the reach of children and domestic animals.
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, protected from light.
