Indications:
Synthetic macrolide broad-spectrum antibiotic, useful in the treatment and control of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms that cause infections in the respiratory and digestive tract in birds, respiratory, genitourinary, periodontal, and pyoderma conditions in dogs and cats.
Dosage:

Dosage: Dilute 1 mL of AZITRO – VET® in 1 liter of drinking water (20 mg/kg of body weight), every 24 hours for 3 to 5 days, or as directed by the Veterinarian.
It is suggested to deprive the animals of any water source in the hours prior to administration to encourage total consumption of the product.
The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. The drug concentrates within macrophages, leukocytes, and fibroblasts; this concentration is several times higher than in the plasma, making it favorable for the treatment of infections caused by intracellular pathogens. It achieves high and effective tissue concentrations even when the serum level is below the minimum inhibitory concentration of susceptible microorganisms. Azithromycin provides better oral absorption, improved tolerance, and a much longer half-life.

Administration:
Oral, in drinking water.
Warnings:
Do not administer to birds producing eggs for human consumption.
Do not administer to animals with a history of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
Administer with caution in animals with hepatic alterations.
Do not use the product after the expiration date.
The main causes of antibacterial resistance are underdosing or overdosing.
Recommendations:
Once the solution is prepared, administer immediately and do not store leftovers.
It is recommended to check the pH of the water, as it can affect the solubility of the active ingredient, bioavailability, and stability.
Cleaning of pipes, drinkers, and other equipment is essential for treatment efficacy.
Keep out of the reach of children and domestic animals.
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, protected from light.
